General Questions

Where are you located?
Fayetteville, Arkansas!

Are you available for travel?
Absolutely! I love to travel for portrait sessions and weddings! I do not charge travel fees for anywhere within sixty miles of Fayetteville and I also do not charge travel fees for anyone living within thirty miles of Lee's Summit, Missouri. If you're not included in either of these groups, email me and we will talk! Travel fees are worked out on a case by case basis.

Do you book sessions on Sundays?
I do not book portrait sessions on Sundays but I am available for weddings.

Do you have a Facebook Fan page?
Definitely. You can find it here.

How can I find out about special offers and promotions?
Through this blog and my Facebook page!

Will your prices change?
Most likely. I currently have a pricing structure that I hope will carry me through the next several years. But! My prices in four or five years will probably not be the same as they are today, just like my prices now are very different than the ones I charged two years ago. The reasons for this vary, but include demand, skill level, experience, babysitting costs for my children, legal fees, and equipment. Because of this, my prices may change eventually, but don't worry! You will never be charged more than the price discussed at the time of booking.

What kind of equipment do you use?
I use a Canon 5d Mark II, a Canon 7d, and a slew of lenses, mostly made up from Canon's luxury "L" line.

Portrait Sessions

What should I wear?
This is the most common question I receive from my clients and my answer is always this: Wear something that feels like you. Since you're having your photograph taken, you'll want to put a little more sass into your outfit than usual, but if you're a jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl, do not feel obligated to wear a vintage dress because one of your friends did and it looked cool. Just be you! Dress in something that makes you feel like yourself and you are already on your way to a great portrait session! For families, I do not recommend matching one another. Matching blends everyone together so while it's a fabulous idea to wear outfits that compliment each other, it is not a good idea to have every family member wear the same color.

What is the best time of day to schedule a session?
Early morning or late afternoon.

How should I prepare for our session?
To prepare for our session, we'll sit down and talk beforehand. Afterwards, email me with any questions or concerns, and relax! We are going to have a great time.

How can I participate in Women Who Love?
Women Who Love is a non-profit project I began in the summer of 2011 highlighting women who excel in their interests and hobbies. All of the women in this series are normal women, just like you and me, and I would be thrilled to have you participate! Email me for more information.

How early should we book with you?
The sooner, the better.

Can we make payments?
Of course! If this is a route you want to take, let me know and we will set something up.

Will you bring a second shooter with you?
Most likely. My husband is amazing and typically second shoots all of my weddings. His ability to capture candid shots of big and small moments during your special day truly offers a unique, personal dynamic in the photographs you will receive. You will love having him join us!

My friend is interested in wedding photography. Is it okay if s/he takes photographs, too?
Typically, the answer to this question is yes. I think it is awesome when people are interested in photography! However, before you tell your friend that they are allowed to follow us during your day, take their personality into account. Will s/he try to interrupt posing instructions? Will s/he try to get in front of myself or my second shooter while we are doing the job you have selected us for? If so, then the answer is no. But! If your friend understands that they cannot interfere with any of the work we are doing, then they are more than welcome to tag along.

If our wedding reception runs late, will you stay around?
If you need us for an extra ten minutes, we are happy to stay around. If you need us for more than ten minutes, you will be required to pay us for the extra time we are putting in. Details about this can be found in your wedding contract.

When will I get my photographs?
My current turnover for portraits is two to four weeks. My current turnover for weddings is two to four months. Both of these turnover periods heavily depend on my current workload. After your session or wedding, I will typically be able to give you a better estimate for how long your waiting period will be. If you need images faster, let me know beforehand and we will work something out!

How many photographs will I receive?
My portrait clients have several packages they can choose from that will determine the amount of photographs they receive. The amount of wedding images received vary as each wedding is different, but my brides and grooms can expect 75 images per hour from their day.

Will I receive every photograph taken during our session or wedding?
No. I choose the best photographs from your session (or wedding!) and these are the ones you will receive.

Where should I print my photographs?
I recommend Mpix. I do not recommend Wal-Mart or Walgreens or Target.
